This place was "coming soon" when I first moved to the area.
I was excited for it to open because it is within walking distance to my home and, I thought at the time, that I'd enjoy the option to run over and pick up a roll to go every now and then.
When this place opened I sent out a group invitation to the Food Pundits group on Facebook and within the week we had gathered for their AYCE (all you can eat) dinner. Only three of us were able to make it to dinner that night but we weren't disappointed and have since been back two - three times each and each time we've brought more people.
My first visit was to simply pick up a menu to find out pricing, hours and so on. Upon entering, I was greeted by the two ladies that work the front and at least one of the sushi chefs. I was given my menu and given a little tour of the meeting room with widescreen TV, strobe light and even a microphone; there is seating for maybe a dozen or so people in this room. (Monday night football and sushi anyone?)
My second visit was my first encounter with the food. I had arrived a little earlier than my friends and decided I'd get started. I was given a special on the house which turned out to be monk fish liver... If I knew what the sushi chef said it was I may not have tasted it but I'm glad I didn't because it was extremely tasty! I was also given mussels and later a pretty darn good tasting pizza roll.
I've had their Cajun roll and though it kicked my butt the first time, I asked for another beating on my second visit because it was that good. To my surprise the sushi chef topped the second one off with thin slivers of jalapeƱo! My second favorite roll so far has been the 1st class roll which is unique in itself and dang tasty.
I've been to the other sushi places in Riverside and Sushi House is better than some of the others. They combine the usual experience you can expect out of your sushi interests and unique twists with specials and rolls you may not find anywhere else.
