Expect lots of election jokes when comedian Kathy Griffin plays the Pechanga Resort and Casino Saturday, Nov. 3.
However, a recent tour of the White House put things into a different perspective for her.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I could be inside the gates of the White House," she said by phone. "While I am an offensive potty-mouth comedian, I am such a dork that I kept welling up."
Griffin has had a good time with the eccentric, at times downright crazy, nature of this year's election.
"This has been an incredible year for comedy with this election because it's so layered," she said. "People are so angry and we're so divided, both candidates are saying things that are so ridiculous."
The experience also gives Griffin a unique take when she talks about politics during her shows.
"Anyone can talk about the election, there's a million jokes to be made," she said. "I actually went to the White House and got a special super-secret tour, so I can talk about that in a way no other comedian can."
