Long before Justin Bieber, One Direction, Nsync, New Kids on the Block and David Cassidy there was the original teen idol Frankie Avalon.
Avalon will appear with fellow heartthrobs Fabian and Bobby Rydell at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m.
Avalon was every girl's dream in the '50s and '60s thanks to his hit song "Venus" and his extremely popular string of "beach" movies with co-star Annette Funicello. He also famously appeared as Teen Angel in "Grease" and made a cameo as himself in "Casino."
Fabian found fame with the songs "Tiger," "Turn Me Loose" and "Hound Dog Man." He followed up his singing success with a film career that included "North to Alaska," "Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation," "A Bullet for Pretty Boy" and "Up Close and Personal."
Bobby Rydell had hits like "Forget Him," "Wild One" and "Volare." He also appeared in the film "Bye Bye Birdie" and Rydell High in "Grease" was named after him.
Tickets for the Golden Boys show at Fantasy Springs are $29, $39, $49 at the Fantasy Springs box office, 1-800-827-2946 and www.fantasyspringsresort.com.
