Rap legend MC Hammer will bring a party to Morongo Casino Resort and Spa Friday, June 21.
Hammer brought rap into the mainstream in the '80s and '90s with the monster hit "U Can't Touch This." The video introduced the world to the Hammer dance and parachute pants. His album "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" has been certified Diamond for being over 10 times platinum.
There was a time when no one was a bigger star than MC Hammer. He was the first crossover rap star, having endorsement deals with Pepsi, KFC and Taco Bell.
His worldwide success was followed by hard times when he declared bankruptcy and couldn't compete with rap's shift to harder, edgier lyrics. However, time and nostalgia have helped his popularity bounce back.
He has recently appeared with Psy performing a mash-up of "Gangnam Style" and "Too Legit to Quit."
Tickets for the 9 p.m. Morongo show are available through Ticketmaster for $39 and $49.
