Heart2013.jpg

It's no secret Heart is awesome. However, you have to possess a spectacularly high level of awesome to inspire a whole tour from one six and half minute performance.

That's exactly what happened after Heart and Jason Bonham's show stealing version of "Stairway to Heaven" at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham are teaming up for a series of dates, including Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino Saturday, Aug. 29.

The Kennedy Center tribute performance has received over six million views and was a top seller on iTunes.

The show is a two for one experience with a full Heart show including classics like "Barracuda," "Crazy on You," "These Dreams" and "Alone." The duo will then be joined by Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience for a thirty minute show closing Zeppelin tribute.

"What a great night it was for us at the Kennedy Center awards, and now to be able to do it again on the road with Ann and Nancy is such an honor for me," Bonham said in a press release. "I am really looking forward to taking my Led Zep Experience show out this summer with Heart and to join them in a Zep-a-thon closing the show as well. Just fantastic!"

Heart will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Thursday, April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. Fantasy Springs show are on sale Friday, April 12 for $49, $69 and $89 at the Fantasy Springs box office, by phone at 1-800-827-2946 and www.fantasyspringsresort.com.

Diana_Ross_2013.JPG

The one and only "Boss Ms. Ross" Diana Ross will perform at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino Friday, August 2.

Ross' Motown legacy is not just a part of music history but American history. The Supremes signed to Motown in 1961 and finally had their first hit in 1963 with "Where Did Our Love Go." The trio became Motown's most successful group of the '60s with songs like "Baby Love," "Stop! In the Name of Love," "Come See About Me" and "Reflections."

In 1970 Ross went solo continuing her career with hits "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)," "Touch Me in the Morning," "Love Hangover" and "Upside Down."

She also embarked on a movie career, receiving an Academy Award nomination for her honest portrayal of Billie Holiday in "Lady Sings the Blues."

Ross has sold over 100 million records, had 18 No. 1 hits, is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is the definition of music royalty.

Tickets for the Fantasy Springs show are on sale Friday, April 5 at the Fantasy Springs box office, by phone at 1-800-827-2946 and at www.fantasyspringsresort.com for $49, $60, $89 and $109.

Latin music superstars Los Lobos will be joined by Los Lonely Boys and Alejandro Escovedo Saturday, August 10 at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino.

East LA natives Los Lobos are southern California favorites, always packing whatever venue they play. While they are most famous for their hit cover "La Bamba," they have been making music together for 40 years.

Sibling trio Los Lonely Boys burst on the scene with the Grammy winning No. 1 hit "Heaven." Since then they have remained an extremely popular touring group and their most recent release "Rockpango" has received a lot of critical acclaim.

Escovedo is the guitarist who united the worlds of punk and country in the '80s San Francisco music scene. He latest record is "Big Station."

Tickets are on sale for the 8 p.m. show Friday, April 5 for $39, $59 and $79 at the Fantasy Springs box office, by phone at 1-800-827-2946 and www.fantasyspringsresort.com.

What better way to celebrate America's independence than with two of the biggest stars of disco. KC and the Sunshine Band and the Village People will keep the audience moving Saturday, July 6 at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino.

Though their campy costumes and over the top personas brought fans in, it was the Village People's catchy hooks and unabashed fun is what kept fans coming back for over 30 years.

While there have been a few different members over the years, the lineup featuring a cop, Native American, sailor, construction worker, biker and cowboy hasn't changed. As a matter of fact they're one of the most recognizable groups in music.

On any given night at clubs around the world "Macho Man," "In the Navy" and "YMCA" are still being played.

KC and the Sunshine Band are also one of disco's most enduring acts with songs like "Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" and "Boogie Shoes" featured in a litany of commercials, TV shows and movies, while also staying in heavy radio rotation.

Tickets are available at the Fantasy Springs box office, by phone at 1-800-827-2946 and www.fantasyspringsresort.com for $39, $49 and $69.

FANTASY SPRINGS: Doobie Brothers 'keep runnin'' June 15

|

DoobieBrothers.jpg

There aren't many rock bands who've been together as long as the Doobie Brothers. As such they will have plenty of hits to play Saturday, June 15 at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino.

In the '70s Michael McDonald's signature vocals and lyrics helped establish the unique rock/R&B Doobie sound.

From "Long Train Runnin'" to "Takin' to the Streets" to "What A Fool Believes" it's hard to find a bad Doobie Brothers song.

The band still features founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons with longtime member John McFee.

Though they are one of the best classic rock bands around, my personal favorite Doobie Brothers moment is when they appeared on the classic comedy "What's Happening." Rerun, Raj and Dwayne are forced to illegally record a Doobie Brothers concert and the band appear as themselves.

It's TV gold!

Tickets for the 8 p.m. Fantasy Springs show are on sale at the fantasy Springs box office, by phone at 1-800-827-2946 and www.fantasyspringsresort.com for $39, $49 and $69.

The Doobie Brothers are also scheduled to perform at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside Saturday, April 13.
