SOBOBA: Gladiator Challenge is back June 30

Mixed martial arts returns to Soboba Casino Sunday, June 30 when the fighters from Gladiator Challenge battle it out.

The card includes Leonard Smith vs. Ryan Walls and Darrell Montague vs. Sean Barnett.

Doors open at 3 p.m., with the first bout at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $40 and available at www.gladiatorchallenge.com.

Soboba Casino celebrates Memorial Day with West Coast Thunder XIV bike run and concert.

West Coast Thunder is a bike run/parade that begins at Skip Fordyce harley-Davidson in Riverside, heads to the Riverside National Cemetery so riders can pay their respects, runs through Moreno Valley and finishes at Soboba Casino.

The after party at the casino features a performance from country singer Craig Morgan. His hits include "That's What I Love About Sundays," "Redneck Yacht Club," "Love Remembers" and "Bonfire."

Through May 5 pre-registration for motorcyclists is $35 for the primary rider and $30 for passengers. After May 5, the price goes up $5.

Registration includes one breakfast coupon for pre-ride continental breakfast, general admission concert ticket, ride pin, American flag that can be attached to bike, raffle ticket, priority staging sticker and West Coast Thunder t-shirt.

Single tickets without the ride can be purchased for $30.

SOBOBA: Wood show displays best artists May 11-12

Fans of NBC's "Parks and Recreation" recently got a glimpse of Ron Swanson competing in the woodworking awards. Well now you can see what happens live in person when Soboba Casino hosts a wood show and contest May 11 and 12.

The contest will feature four categories, scroll saw, carving, furniture maker and wood turners, competing for their share of a $1,000 prize. There will also be a $1,000 best in show grand prize.

High school woodshops will compete for best display and a $500 prize.

Proceeds from the event will go to local high school woodworking programs.

SOBOBA: Henry Cejudo appears on 'Tonight Show'

Ahead of his fight at Soboba Casino Sunday, March 24 as part of the Gladiator Challenge promotion, Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo appeared on NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to discuss the elimination of wrestling from the Olympics.

He was joined by gold medalist Rulon Gardner and spoke about his travels around the world teaching wrestling to underprivileged youth.

SOBOBA: Gladiator Challenge features olympian March 24

The fighters of Gladiator Challenge will return to Soboba Casino Sunday, March 24 for the Battleground show. The evening will include 2008 freestyle wrestling gold medalist Henry Cejudo making his fight debut.

The main event features two championship contests with Lucas Taber taking on Leonard Smith for the light heavyweight title and Fernando Gonzales facing off against Gary Efhen for the middleweight belt.

Doors open at 3 p.m., with fights starting at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at www.gladiatorchallenge.com for $40 and $55.

HALLOWEEN 2012: Inland casinos offer no shortage of fun

For Inland residents not interested in scary theme parks or passing out candy. Area casinos are offering them alternative Halloween celebrations including many costume contests and special bingo games.

Soboba Casino: Monster's Ball in AC's Lounge8-11 p.m. Costume contest offers guests a chance at sharing a $4,000 cash prize. Also holding a special Halloween bingo that begins at 10 a.m. and offers bonuses for bingoing on N31.

San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino: Halloween Scream Special bingo and costume contest. Contest participants receive a free play. Guests must purchase a regular pack to enter the contest. Regular session buy-in is $20 and starts at 4 p.m.

Pechanga Resort and Casino: Silk the Club is having its Halloween Haunt 2012 Saturday, Oct. 27 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., where anyone in costume gets in free. Entry is $10 for non-costumed guests. Costume contest with $1500 in prizes. There is no guest list for the special event.

Silk costume rules: All costumes must be appropriate and not offensive or overly revealing. In addition, no masks or heavy face paint (which would dramatically alter features), and no real or simulated weapons are permitted.
