SPA: Lennon tributes this week

|

20120227_lennontribute.jpgJohn Lennon is gone, but his voice lives on in the person of Joe Stefanelli. He brings back the songs, sounds and sight of the Beatle in "Starting Over: The Lennon Experience," a musical tribute, this Thursday and Friday, March 1-2, at the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs.

Stefanelli is such an adept vocal ringer for Lennon that he was picked by director Robert Zemeckis as the official "voice" of Lennon in the hit film "Forrest Gump." He looks, sounds and acts like Lennon in the tribute act, which includes music from the Fab Four's glory days and John's solo artist career.

Showtime is 7 p.m. in the Cascade Lounge. Tickets are $15; must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets are available at Star Tickets and at the casino. Find details at the Spa website.
