Coming in January 2012, Spa is adding renatble poolside cabanas. Spa has refurbished our salon reception area and will also have new pedicure chairs in the new year, as well as adding new furnishings to the women's and men's lounge areas.

A new treatment on the menu is the Sticks and Stones treatment which uses smoothed bamboo sticks and heated stones designed to ease the muscles into relaxation with the heat of the stones while providing a more firm massage with the use of the bamboo.

OLD MEETS NEW AT THE SPA

The Spa at Spa Resort Casino combines old Hollywood luxury with the latest in treatment services. Best known for its Taking of the Waters signature service, The Spa is a full-service facility that offers a variety of services from wraps and massages to nail and salon packages.
"What's unique about our facility is it's rich in nostalgia," said Stacie Passmore, spa manager. "It just recently celebrated its 50th anniversary."

Taking of the Waters is a five step process that utilizes the spa's famed mineral waters. The service is included in the price of spa admission. It is recommended that visitors arrive 50 to 60 minutes prior to scheduled treatments for the Taking of the Waters.

The service begins with a stay in the spa's steam room, which is infused with eucalyptus. Next on the list is a stay in the dry sauna. The third step is a visit to the inhalation room, which is infused with menthol. For step four, the guest takes a soak in a personal tub filled with the mineral waters and equipped with jets. For the final step, guests are taken to the tranquility room, where they are given cool compresses for the forehead and eyes in order to relax and cool the body temperature.

BABYING THE FINGERS AND TOES

I partook in a lovely 75-minute Festival Fall Mani/Pedi Combo, which included exfoliation, nail and cuticle shaping, conditioning, a hydrating hand and foot mask, massage and the polish of choice.

After choosing a nail polish for my fingers and toes, I sat down for the manicure. A sugar scrub was rubbed all over my hands and arms to exfoliate. When rinsed, I was given a hand and arm massage with lotion, which left my hands and arms baby soft. The nails and cuticles were trimmed and shaped, and then the polish was applied.

Next came the spa pedicure. I was given a delicious raspberry tea to sip while my feet soaked in the heated tub. The pedicure was one of the most extensive I've had. A mask was applied and rinsed. The sugar scrub was again used on my feet and calves. The calluses where filed away until my feet were soft and smooth. A lotion was then used while my feet and legs were gently massaged. And finally, the matching polish was applied and sealed. I left with smooth, soft skin and delightfully pink fingers and toes.
