SPOTLIGHT 29: Cafe Capitata is all about BBQ Mondays

Café Capitata at Spotlight 29 Casino is now offering a BBQ buffet on Mondays.

The lunch and dinner buffet includes traditional BBQ favorites like ribs, chicken, potato salad and cornbread. Dinner also offers a prime rib carving station.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $10.95 per person and dinner is from 5-10 p.m. for $14.95 per person.

Café Capitata also has a Mexican buffet on Wednesdays, lobster buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, Seafood and prime rib buffets on Saturdays.

In honor of Veterans day, Cafe Capitata inside Spotlight 29 Casino is offering active and veteran military servicepersons free breakfast.

From 6-11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 guests can show active or veteran military I.D. along with a Club 29 card to receive a free Chairman's breakfast.

Spotlight 29 will also offer the All-American all you can eat buffet for $9.95 a person. The buffet is available from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and features a selection of international food along with classics like BBQ chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs.

SPOTLIGHT 29: JEM Steakhouse introduces 2 for $29 deal

For desert residents looking for a good affordable dinner, JEM Steakhouse inside Spotlight 29 Casino has just announced its 2 for $29 menu.

Two guests will get a three course dinner that includes an appetizer, entree and dessert for just $29. The 2 for $29 special is not available on show nights.

Menu Selection:

First course: house or Caesar salad, or soup of the day
Entree: 8 oz. Rib Eye steak, Chicken Alfredo fettuccini, Stuffed chicken breast, cajun style wild salmon
Desserts: Homemade carrot cake, creme brulee, chocolate or vanilla bean ice cream

Hours: Wednesday-Saturday 5-10 p.m. Sunday 5-9 p.m. JEM Bar is open 4 p.m. uintil close and has Happy Hour Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 4-6:30 p.m.

SPOTLIGHT 29: Cafe Capitata adds new Italian buffet

Cafe Capitata is adding to its themed nights with an Italian buffet on Mondays 5-10 p.m.

For $12.95 guests can enjoy a pasta bar and carving station. A few of the entrees offered include Asiago Cheese Breaded Sole with Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce, Italian Sausage Baked Ziti Pasta and Sundried Tomato and Asparagus Tips Risotto.

On Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the Cafe continues to offer its Mexican buffet for $9.95 a person. There is a live fajita station as well as $2 margaritas and chabelas all day.

Cafe Capitata has also added a lobster feast on Friday and Saturday. For $7.99 guests can add lobster to their buffets.

20120103_firenight.jpgIf you can stand the heat, JEM Steakhouse is happy to oblige. The signature restaurant at Spotlight 29 Casino is hosting Fire Night on Friday, Jan. 13.

Chef Dario Canizales is upping the temperature with a selection of spicy specialties. The menu includes spicy shrimp kabobs, Mexican caviar habanero salsa dip, Oriental fried shishito peppers and a fire hot hamburger stuffed with habanero, jalapeno and cayenne peppers. A selection of fiery drinks will also be available. Reservations recommended: (760) 775-2880.

A fire eater will provide smoking hot entertainment by swallowing flaming objects to mystify guests, from 6 to 9 p.m. Find details at the Spotlight 29 website.

Fire Night is part of the casino's Smoke and Fire weekend. The legendary Smokey Robinson will perform in the Spolight Showroom on Saturday, Jan. 14.
