Money doesn't grow on trees anymore

We need help! A fellow reporter is writing about a growing trend of families who were once able to pay for cars, education, etc. and are now, in the current economy, unable to help their children as they begin their adult lives. Here's the gist of the story:

Parents who were once able to fund their children's college educations, cars, weddings and first homes are now struggling themselves financially. The reality of layoffs, tanking retirement funds and a sinking economy has, for many families, forced closure of "the bank of mom and dad" and left young adults to fend for themselves. If you know a family that would be good for us to talk to as we report this story, please e-mail jzimmerman@pe.com.

Thank you for the assistance!
