The education division of the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands is looking for new volunteers for their annual program, "1880s at Work and Play."
Those interested in volunteering are invited to attend an orientation session Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
In the program, "1880s at Work and Play," museum visitors experience life in Southern California in the 1880s by washing clothes with a washboard and tub, beating a rug, using old fashioned toys and tools, and churning butter. The program is offered on selected weekday mornings from October through January.
New volunteers will prepare for the interactive program by attending three training sessions on Sept. 13, 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the museum's education center.
A dress rehearsal for all program volunteers will take place Friday, Sept. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The public is also welcome to attend and enjoy the program free with regular admission to the museum.
