Coachella is winding down, but here are the details from the last few hours.
-Yeah Yeah Yeahs went on late, had a giant eye. They went on so late that I only stuck around through "Gold Lion" before cutting out to see X.
-X was fantastic! I can't wait to see Exene and John Doe next weekend at Stagecoach with the Knitters
-After X, I jetted to see Paul Weller, he of The Jam, and ended up standing next to Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver. Cool.
-JOHNNY MARR SHOWS UP WITH PAUL WELLER! Yes, two days after Morrissey, Johnny Marr is at Coachella...and jamming on "A Town Called Malice" with Weller.
-My Bloody Valentine is so loud that people in Riverside can hear them.
-Coachella specifically asked Public Enemy to do "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back." Overheard from a fellow P-E journo: "Flavor Flav has a real job!" (Speaking of VH-1 reality shows, I also saw Mystery from "The Pick Up Artist" and that drug counselor from "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in the crowd today.
-Public Enemy turned it up. And they brought the noise. And it was insanely packed.
