Fontana's native son Sammy Hagar heads home

The Red Rocker is coming back to his roots.

Sammy Hagar, a who grew up in Fontana and spent his formative years rocking out throughout the Inland region before becoming a successful solo artist and front man of Van Halen, is coming to Highland.

Hagar will be at San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland on March 25. Tickets go on sale today at 11 a.m. through Ticketmaster. The only catch is that you have to be at 21 to go to a San Manuel show.

Hagar played SoCal last year with Chickenfoot, his newest project (featuring former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar hero Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith).

The Red Rocker still has a lot of love for the area. In an interview last year he told me he still drives by his old haunts when he's in town and that he still has family in the greater Inland region.

And in honor of the race in Fontana this weekend, let's all rock out to "I Can't Drive 55"
