The first weekend of the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio is officially a week away.
Not only does Coachella attract fans from around the world, but also bands from around the world--15 countries this year to be exact.
Our amazing graphic artist Chris Ramos took my online map and turned it into a real paper map for this week's Guide. If you get a chance, pick one up! Click on Chris' image below to go to the online interactive map.
Also in the Guide you'll find a wealth of Coachella coverage, including an interview with Friday performer Dawes, what you need to know if you're going to Coachella and Stagecoach, the Do Lab lineup, and even a recipe for a Coachella-inspired cocktail at a Rancho Cucamonga's Ra Pour.
With the festival taking over the next two weekends, I'll be out at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, posting photos, blogs, details about the inevitable David Hasselhoff sighting, etc. at @vanessafranko.
If you're from the I.E. and you'll be going to the fest and planning to Tweet, use the hashtag #pecoachella. My goal is to showcase what you're seeing and hearing as well. We'll be doing some special presentations with it on the website, too. Take pictures of your friends, your campsite, your best "Carpoolchella" photo, tell us about the traffic and more.
In the next week we'll have even more Coachella content coming your way with interviews, stories, photos and more.
Happy festival season!
