Over the summer, Inland bands Souldier and Space Camp Stowaways merged together to perform as Soulcamp for a very special show.

The bands are teaming up for another concert where each will perform on New Year's Eve at the Mission Tobacco Lounge in Riverside. If you've ever seen either act, you know it's not going to be a passive way to say goodbye to 2011.

Mando the DJ will also be spinning tunes when the bands aren't on stage.

It starts at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 and the event is open to guests 21 and older only.

At the end of the year, music writers agonize over all of the music out there to pick their favorites--well, at least I do. I have lists and stacks of CDs, and folders of mp3s, just oozing with musical goodness.

I've been keeping a running tab of all of the local releases I've received this year and I also want to hear from you because I'm sure I'm missing something from along the way.

Here are the rules:

1-The project needs to have been released in 2011.
2-The release has to be from musicians from Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
3-The release needs to be at least an EP's worth of original music.

Feel free to comment below or email me at vfranko@pe.com. If you comment below, know that I might come after you to get your email address to get some more information from you.
