The recent Kennel Club of Palm Springs Dog Show included an obedience competition and The Alaskan Malamute shown is owned by Velvet Rogers, a member of the KCPS. His is Intl. American Champion Tigara's Arctic Fire'n the Sky or Bandit. He's 5 1/2 years old and bred by Sam and Yvonne Walden from Tehachapi, CA.
The Long Sit is for one minute and is for Novice A & B dogs and handlers. They must sit quietly without sniffing, shifting excessively or ,of course, without getting up or lying down. This is done with the handlers standing across the ring from and within sight of the dogs.
Flying over the jump is Zoom, owned, trained and handled by Ward Falkner. Zoom's full name is American Obedience Trial Champion Spirit's Zim Zam Zoom. He's a Canadian Grand Master Obedience Trial Champion, Canada's highest title in obedience and American Utility Dog Excellent Fifth Level. He's reached his level 3 Obedience Master (American).
