The Oasis Home Owner's Association in Menifee held a Santa Paws Donation Drive this holiday season for Sun City K9 Adoptions, the local no-kill shelter. The gated 55-years plus community has 1158 homes and, according to resident Pamela Gelband, the residents were extremely supportive and generous to this first time event.
They had a display in the clubhouse with receptacles to receive donations of new blankets, pet beds, toys, treats, leashes, collars, harnesses, sweaters, pet dishes, as well as office and cleaning supplies. They also collected $520 in cash and gift cards.
Shelter staff and volunteers were appreciative of the donations. According to Kim Goble of Sun City K-9 this has been a difficult year for the shelter due to the economic downturn.
